BlackPearl Resources Inc. (BlackPearl) is an oil and natural gas company. It is engaged in the business of oil and gas exploration, development and production in North America. BlackPearl's primary focus is on heavy oil and oil sands projects in Western Canada. As of December 31, 2012, BlackPearl's core properties included Onion Lake, Saskatchewan; Mooney, Alberta, and Blackrod, Alberta. Onion Lake is a conventional heavy oil property located in the Lloydminster area in Saskatchewan. BlackPearl holds working interests, ranging from 50% to 100%, in approximately 19 net sections of land located in the Onion Lake area of Saskatchewan. Mooney is a conventional heavy oil property located in northern Alberta. Blackrod is an in-situ steam assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) oil sands project located south of Fort McMurray, in the Athabasca oil sands region of northern Alberta.
