Canacol Energy Ltd. (Canacol) and its subsidiaries are primarily engaged in petroleum and natural gas exploration and development activities in Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador and Guyana. Canacol's primary producing property is the Rancho Hermoso field in Colombia. Canacol's operations in Llanos Basin include Rancho Hermoso Field, LLA 23 E&P contract, LLA 10 E&P contract, Cano Los Totumos E&P contract, Morichito E&P contract and Entrerrios production contract. Its operations in Caguan-Putumayo Basin include Ombu E&P Contract - Capella heavy oil discovery, Cedrela E&P Contract, Portofino E&P Contract, Sangretoro E&P Contract and Tamarin E&P Contract. Its operations in Middle Magdalena Basin include Santa Isabel E&P Contract and VMM 2 E&P Contract, VMM 3 E&P Contract. Its operation in Upper Magdalena Basin includes COR-11 E&P Contract and COR-39 E&P Contract. In February 2012, it acquired an additional 9% interest in the LLA 23 block and an additional 10% interest in the Santa Isabel block.
